Cranky Dragon Queen chokes on our DKs !

After days of her shrieking that at us we happily shut the Queen’s big yapper! We abused Gil as a third tank and were throwing Yosh in her mouth repeatedly in final phases of the fight. Finally dragged in Yanz to make it a three combo DK punch to the face and the loud, bony Frost Wyrm gagged to her death just as she enraged.

It took 10 attempts two weeks ago, all day yesterday and then 7 shots today to learn the dance for this fight. This encounter would have been a slam dunk a while back if we hadn’t canceled a few raids last two weeks. Everything came down to just surviving the grounded phase in last 35%. Well attendance issues solved, this week we finished strong and hopefully the big LK will be the epic fight it is billed to be.

This fight took more effort than expected. We were a bit slow at starting to learn this fight, barely used any attempts the first 2 weeks he was up but started to put some serious effort into it on the 3rd week. 4th week we had multiple 1% wipes on tuesday night and fully expected to drop him the next day. Unfortunately blizzard said fuck that and gave us lag and made killing the stupid oozes significantly harder when you can only reliably auto attack them. So after wasting a good portion of our attempts we decided to go do something else and try again another time. This week we pretty much didnt even touch putricide till tonight cause we were still a bit pissed from last week, so we played with the stupid healy dragon and put this off till the last min, at which point we dropped him on the second attempt of the night. Well technically i wasnt there but still, i claim all credit, my moral support is very important. I was gonna put a normal screenshot up but chig just had to say something about cats so here they are!.

Title says it all, unless the encounter is called Blood Council, in which case it doesnt, Next time we should make sure these guys stay dead. Infact any mob we kill while leveling should be dismembered and torched to prevent resurrection. I hate killing stuff twice.

Who would have thought it, things explode, and kill people who dont move out of the way. What a novel concept! I am greatly impressed by these new mechanics that have been invented for this fight. The fight by the way is Rotface. Actually it was rather fun, and stuff. Festergut is also dead now too, yay for people being online!

Patch day: After taking about an hour to get the whole raid into the instance, we had some fun with some new trash and got ambushed by surprise ninja statue skeletons that came out of nowhere and pwned something. Then they died again. Then some other stuff died again. Then we attacked Lord Marrowgar but the tank slipped on the ice and broke his neck or something so we had to fall back temporarily. After applying some duct tape to our tank and making some threatening phone calls to various ISPs we were ready for our second attempt and the weird skeleton guy died. Had to stop shortly after due to the instance servers doing some stuff that made our killing abilities not work.

Day 2: Unfortunately due to a tragic sleeping accident I missed out on the fun, but the rest of the guild kicked Lady Deathwhisper (or whatever her name is) around for a bit until she stopped trying to kill them and then shot down a horde airship for some reason. Maybe they forgot to unflag? Some death knight is waiting for us now so i need to stop typing this and go kill him. No screen shots so here are some random ones about cats.

Another hard mode down. One raid night and part of last night was spent on this but our last attempt of the night we ironed out the flaws in our strat and even overcame mistakes made by a couple of us. For instance, apparently I fail at switching targets and was dpsing the dark target with the dark aura for about 20-30% of their health. I noticed this at least 3 times, switched targets, unsuccessfully…….. Which is why at the end we only have 2 people alive. I’d cover the repair bills for that but I’m cheap!

It was surprisingly easy. Compared to the last 2 bosses anyways. Maybe 3 hours total put into this fight since Jar-Jar died and we 1 shot this tonight due to some special help…

One of the problems with our 3 day raid schedule has been that we don’t get much time to work on new content. And we also can get really screwed up if someone in a critical position is unable to show up for some reason. However this week we were able to get Beasts out of the way in 1 attempt and 10 min of our time which gave us a serious advantage for the rest of the week. And now the red guy is dead. We discovered on Tuesday night that increasing the number of healers to 7 did not help things and actually made it worse. We discovered on Wednesday night due to a shortage of healers and a very long work related phone call for another one of the healers that there wasnt much of a difference between running with 5 or 6 healers. So we stuck with 5, things went alot quicker, and portals were a bit more forgiving to people making mistakes and stuff and after the 3rd portal went down and the 3rd volcano popped, The red guy popped too and all was well.
